Stirling Schools Celebrates International Literacy Day

Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) celebrations have taken place annually to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights.

Literacy is the ability to read, write, and speak in a language. It is essential for communication, learning, and participation in society.

According to UNESCO, 773 million adults worldwide are illiterate. This means they cannot read or write a simple sentence in their language.

On this International Literacy Day, let's commit to promoting literacy and helping to eradicate illiteracy around the world.
